More About the Gro-Masters Fire Ant & Mole Cricket Control Program

Do you have fire ants?

Fire_ant_mound-1Fire ants cause billions of dollars in damage to people and property every year.  If you see ant mounds like the ones on this page or your family or pets have already been bitten, it’s not too late, but it’s a good idea to treat these pests quickly.

There is more than one species of fire ant, but the species called “red imported fire ant” is very common in our area, and these are the ones that cause the most damage.

Red imported fire ants in our area thrive in backyards, golf courses, and recreational areas, but they can also nest under driveways, house foundations and lawns.

red-fire-antWhat happens if you’ve got fire ants on your property?

Fire ant nests can damage driveways, electrical wiring, and housing foundations.  Bites from these pests are painful and in some cases can cause anaphylactic shock. Red Imported Fire Ants (RIFAs) are more than a nuisance. They can be a health risk and cause significant property damage.

What are mole crickets?

mole-cricket-1Mole crickets are the #1 turf damaging insect in the Southeast.  A single adult mole cricket can kill 10 square feet of grass per day! These pests are not a threat to your health, but they can do massive damage your lawn.
