Brown Patch disease is caused by a naturally occurring soil microbe called Rhizoctonia solani. Under normal conditions, Rhizoctonia solani is a beneficial soil microbe. However, when humidity is high and grass is wet for eight or more hours, R. solani can grow beyond its ability to help and begins to form unsightly brown patches in your lawn.
